War Thunder: The Ride To The Top

It took me a while to do what I just did today...Three and a half years to do it...& getting it done on my 49th birthday. 'What am I talking about?',you people would ask. Well,I'll tell you...I'm talking about that unbelievable online game called..."War Thunder"! Today,Sunday January 14th,2018,I had reached the ultimate spot in the game that makes an ordinary player become something like 'a legend'...That spot is 'Level 100',with the top rank of 'Marshal'. That long road started when I joined the game & its now 18-million+ strong community on August 13th,2014...& I wasn't sure how well I would fit in. Nor did I even think that I would even reach the top level at 'such & such' a time. My thought then was that " 'Level 100' was just a dream."...& I had my doubts about getting there. Yeah...Some dream! I kept on getting into the unfriendly skies (seeing that I picked the pilot's role, which was to become my comfort zone),looking for air-to-air brawls, finding potential enemy targets on the ground,on the water,& in the sky...& basically beating the crap out of them. Getting through the levels...one at a time...is definitely hard work,& hard work is what earns you a completed level, all kinds of scoring,& a lot of rewards...including an increase in your "officers' rank". Along the way,I had my old 1GB computer replaced by a more powerful 8GB unit...watched God knows how many 'War Thunder' videos on YouTube...got myself a female avatar that was an a**-kicking super-vampire (Does that give you a clue?)...& basically kept on terrorizing fellow players on the 'enemy side, not to mention blowing a lot of stuff up. Sure I got my butt smacked around in the process, but I kept on getting up in the sky...& continued my 'busting up' for those 3 1/2 years. In the end, right up to this very day,all that work finally paid off...& in the words of my avatar 'Moka Akashiya' ('Rosario + Vampire'),I definitely earned my place!!!
  2. Normally,I rarely use the Forums for typing topics...I sometimes read them! However, tonight,I'm making an exception! I don't know if any of you following the Forums here are NASCAR fans,but...let's just say I witnessed on TV history made tonight. Jimmie Johnson did what only two other drivers accomplished: Winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup title for a record-tying 7TH TIME! No,this is not a joke...Look at your sports grids, wherever you are,& you'll either be shocked out of your wits or amazed! This story's going to reverberate all over North America,& the rest of the world (perhaps!) Anyway,in spectacular & dramatic fashion,Johnson shined the brightest by winning the season-ending Ford 400 race at Miami-Homestead,Fla.,& clinched the 7th Sprint Cup title of his career...outshining even Kyle Busch,Joey Logano,& Carl Edwards (The last one being in a multi-car wreck with 10 laps to go)! Was I expecting this to happen, one could only wonder! I can tell you people this much: If I wanted my 19th year as a full-time NASCAR follower to end with a bang,I sure got what I asked for...on LIVE TV! 'Team 48' rules!!! Hooo-yah!!!
  3. Greetings to you, fellow surfers! My on-line name is 'Warbirdpeter'...As you can see by the topic title, you'll most likely understand why! I happen to be a bit of a 'noob' (slang for 'newbie') on this site, but I've got experiences in watching this anime stuff everywhere...& take note 'I mean everywhere!',including YouTube! (You can say 'rival sites',but I don't believe in that term at all!) As for the title,it's no doubt true...I happen to be a die-hard 'War Thunder' player, one of 15 million+ online with the game ( I know to you it's probably 'nuts'...Then again, what isn't in this day & age?)! I'm also a scale-model kit builder & collector (mostly military aircraft, but also naval vessels & automobiles {ever had a replica car from the 80's TV series 'Knight Rider' in scale-model form? I've got it!} Also a die-hard NASCAR fan about to complete my 19th season following it...& it's heating up as it gets closer to the finish! (Any fans of NASCAR bunking here?) That all said,I hope you welcome me with 'open arms',sort of speaking...& here's hoping my stay is 'a long stretch run' (There I go,using NASCAR jargon!)! P.S.: I find your Forums' set-up is eerily similar to 'War Thunder's...Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself when you get the chance...Just don't get spooked!!!
